“One day I can teach my daughter to sew and hopefully take over the business.” -Ashley Nieves, Owner
Located in Lakeland Florida, A&L Inspired creations is
a small, family-oriented shop that offers handmade
clothing for all ages – babes to mams! Owner, Ashley,
explained that her daughter is her biggest inspiration.
With two teen girls, it was easy to overspend on clothes – even baby clothing!
Ashley knew she needed to learn how to sew. She began after purchasing boutique outfits for her two girls. She inspected the items – and the prices – and determined she could offer similar items at a more affordable rate! Ashley began only making clothing for herself and her children to keep them well dressed without the boutique price tag. Once friends and family got wind of her abilities they all wanted pieces of her adorable handmade clothing.
And so, her shop was born.
One of the hardest parts of starting her shop was coming up with a unique name. Ashley said, “I wanted something that had special meaning. Since we prayed about having a little girl and [were] finally blessed with one, I knew having her first name and mine put together would make a perfect shop name.” And she was right! Her creations are clearly inspired by her daughter.
Ashley hopes to grow her shop, gain customers, and one day have her items available for purchase in local stores. She also plans to one day teach her daughter to sew and have her take over the business.
