There aren’t many shops that offer alternative styles so if that’s your look you definitely need to check out The Ghoul Kids. The Ghoul Kids features a variety of vintage and alternative-inspired apparel. They are the perfect shop for all of the
spooky pieces your little ghouls could ever dream of! They offer ready-to- ship as well as preorders and they have handmade drops twice a month. They are steadily growing and getting their spooky apparel out from their base in San Antonio to all of those who need it.
The owner of The Ghoul Kids, Ashley Goulart, has been creating and
sewing since she was seven years old. Creativity has always been a stress reliever for her. She began her sewing
career with doll clothing in middle school but was soon on her way to making her own outfits to fit her unique style. She said, “Having the ability to take my creations and have others wear them, style them, and love them as much as I do makes me ecstatic.” It is that enthusiasm that led to the opening of her shop. Now others can wear the fun and unique styles Ashley has to offer. Ashley makes an effort to pour her heart and soul into every item she makes. Her passion for sewing is evident in her every stitch.
This shop’s unique name was created earlier this year when Ashley decided she needed to keep her art and her shop under different names. Yes, she’s an artist too. She landed on “The Ghoul Kids” with help from her last name and the culture she represents with her brand. Ashley would love to see her shop continue to grow to the point that she could run the shop as her full-time job. She also has dreams of printing her own fabric in-house rather than outsourcing. The shop is sure to reach those goals since she pours everything she has into it. In return Ashley has kept motivated by the happiness and satisfaction she gains from sharing her creations with the world.
One thing that put The Ghoul Kids in it’s own unique group of shops is the fabric prints they offer. They are truly unique. Many of the designs are hand-drawn and showcase Ashley’s love of everything Halloween
and horror. Her favorite item that is available in her shop is the two- piece romper. These rompers are incredibly versatile. They’re a great buy for mommas’ rapidly growing babes. Ashley’s two-piece rompers are a “grow with me” style allowing longer wear. Why aren’t more kids’ clothes designed with growth in mind? you might be asking yourself...
We’re wondering the same thing. Ashley is thoughtful and brilliant. In addition to her “grow with me” design, Ashley’s rompers can also be worn as a set or separate pieces. This allows mix-matching with additional pieces from your babes’ closets. SO VERSATILE.
Ashley’s creativity and design is only the beginning of her shop. She is driven to success with the help of an amazing rep team made up of badass mommas and a husband who steadily supports her and her dreams. Think of Ashley as the skull and her team as the rest of the skeleton - all so very important in supporting her vision.
1. Are you more of a hunter or a gatherer? I am definitely a gatherer. Both physical and mental collecting
2. You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why? Labradorite. A crayon with the same iridescent color of the crystal. It appears simple shades of green and greys, but once the light moves around it, it has a lustrous mix of color. I seam odd at first, but people that know me get to see my true self. 3. We finish the interview and you step outside the office and find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. What would you do? I’d purchase a plot of land to build our forever dream home, and build my parents theirs too. I’d also open a store front.
4.What do you think about when you’re alone in your car? I don’t, I’m usually singing and dancing like a crazy’s person
5. What’s your favorite ’90s jam? Santeria by Sublime
6. If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why? A bat. They’re my spirit animals.
7. What was the last gift you gave someone? A positive pregnancy test! This was a gift for me too!!!
8. What were you like in high school? Awkward
9. What’s the last thing you watched on TV and why did you choose to watch it? How to Get Away with Murder, I want to see where they go with it...
10. Any advice for your previous boss? Don’t be a d***
11. Tell me something about your last job, other than money, that would have inspired you to keep working there. Feeling valued and appreciated
12. What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently? I lost my rental car key in the ocean, walking long the beach. It was so funny because it was so unreal... try explaining that to enterprise!
13. What is your dream job? This. But taking it to the next level and being successful enough at it that me and my husband can both work out of our brick and mortar, spending more time with each other, our baby that’s on the way, and our 2 kitty babies! I never want either of us to ever have to miss something special or important because of work.
14. What inspires you? Working towards the big goal for this brand!
15. What’s your food/drink guilty pleasure? Hood Rat Snacks. If you know, you know!
16. What are you known for? My creativity

18. What’s the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn without asking this question? I look more interesting than I am... I guess that I have my head tattooed.
19. How would you rate your memory? Terrible. I’m constantly asking myself “What was I doing?”
20. If you woke up and had 2,000 unread emails and could only answer 300 of them, how would you choose which ones to answer? Weed out the spam, and start with the oldest email. That’s only fair, right?
21. What pizza topping best represents you? Mushrooms, because I’m a fun guy!
22. Describe the color Green to somebody who is blind. The smell of fresh cut grass and the feeling of running your hand along the grass. It’s fresh and natural.
23. If you were to get rid of one state in the U.S., which would it be and why? Florida. Florida is the worst.
24. What is your favorite tv show to watch when you’re alone with the remote? I enjoy movies more than TV shows... specifically Horror movies, new or old! I recently watched all 9 Freddy Krueger movies. I didn’t even realize the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise did 9 total. I had only watched 4 previously, so I hunted them all down and watching them in order over a span of a few weeks.
25. Are you now who you thought you would be ten years ago? Yes and no. Somethings I am just getting to that I thought I would have already done. But the time just wasn’t right. The universe has taken me down a different path in some ways, but I trust that it just wasn’t my time. My time is now.
