“I love buying seamless files. It is like imagining what its potential is, what all could this image become? It's just a
fun thing for me.” -Molly Wallace, Owner
Handmade, made-to-order, totally custom clothing is one of the best things about shopping small. If you haven’t shopped a handmade drop, you haven’t really experienced what the small shop world has to offer. At Wallace’s Wonders Boutique you will get that small shop experience, the handmade quality and customization, and the satisfaction of knowing you are supporting another mama’s dream of supporting her family with her shop.
This shop has been open for a little over a year and a half now which has allowed the owner, Molly Wallace, to get into a good groove offering monthly preorders as well as a regular option for customized items. Every piece you see offered in her shop is handmade by her. She offers styles for the entire family and especially enjoys making sibling sets. Living in Bennington, Nebraska, Molly has always been a “Maker” and is so excited to have finally found her niche after working hard to pinpoint an artistic outlet that would challenge her creatively and satisfy her inspirations.
Wallace’s Wonders Boutique is proof that working hard for your dreams truly does pay off. As of July 2021, the shop has been so successful that Molly was able to quit her full-time job and turn her focus on her shop one hundred percent of the time (...when she isn’t parenting, of course). This successful shop’s name came to Molly when she was brainstorming what to call her business in its early stages. She gathered input from a few groups and the name seemed fitting so she ran with it!
As any mother knows, our children inspire us daily. This is, of course, true for Molly. Her kids keep her going, give her motivation, and are the biggest inspiration for her designs. Every item offered in Wallace’s Wonders Boutique is fully customized to meet each unique customer’s style. As a customer, you get to choose each detail and Molly brings imagination to life! If creative fashion isn’t something you dream about and you’re lacking in the imagination department, Molly is skilled at stepping in with suggestions, examples, and ideas to lead you in the right direction! She is passionate about the success of her shop because she loves the freedom of being her own boss. This passion keeps her attentive to her customers’ needs and gives her the motivation she needs to help each customer, creative or not, design the perfect piece for themselves or their babes.
Although Molly thrives on creating in general, she specifically loves designing Belle Twist Peplums and Dresses because she is challenged to see how much interest she can get into a single piece. She also enjoys the hunt for seamless files. She says that hunting for seamless files “is like imagining what its potential is.” Seeing a small section of something that could become so many different styles and pieces is so fun!
If you haven’t found the joy of handmade clothing, or you have a go-to shop but would love to have more, check out Wallace’s Wonders Boutique! See for yourself how much fun the Belle Twist Peplums are and get your creative juices flowing for a custom order. You won’t regret it!
1. Are you more of a hunter or a gatherer? I gather
2. You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why? Neon green. It's clearly the best color :)
3. You find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. What would you do? There isn't really a way to trace lotto tickets back to an original purchaser besides the location it was printed, so if I couldn't find anyone when I found it I would probably keep it. Granted I would probably never remember to check if it even was a winner because I don't ever play it.
4.What do you think about when you’re alone in your car? I'm literally never alone in my car. God forbid I NOT take kiddos with me to the store.
5. If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why? I would be some type of bird. I think it would be amazing to be able to fly.
6. What was the last gift you gave someone? I gave my mom microwave bowl-holders for her birthday.
7. What were you like in high school? I was the Assistant State Manager for plays. I helped build the sets for them and then during the performances, I was the one in charge of making sure the stage was changed correctly and that everything behind the scenes ran smoothly.
8. What’s the last thing you watched on TV and why did you choose to watch it? My current series I just started is The good doctor.
9. Tell me something about your last job, other than money, that would have inspired you to keep working there. I didn't quit my job because I didn't like it. I quit because I couldn't juggle a full-time job and be able to get this business where I wanted it to go. I had to quit there so I could grow HERE.
10. What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently? My son walked into my office when I was sewing, grabbed the neck of his shirt, and yanked it down showing me his chest. He then proceeded to stare at me, smack himself in the chest a few times, and then let go of his shirt and walk away without saying anything to me. It was so random that all I could do was laugh.
11. What inspires you? Making a great life for my kiddos and making sure they are given the whole world.
12. What’s your food/drink guilty pleasure? Mozzarella sticks
13. What are you known for? My creativity
14. What do you work toward in your free time? Happiness
15. How would you rate your memory? Total shit. I suck at remembering anything unfortunately.
16. If you woke up and had 2,000 unread emails and could only answer 300 of them, how would you choose which ones to answer? Well most of them would probably be junk mail, so delete all that first and then there would probably only be 100 left ;)
17. What pizza topping best represents you? Ham - super yummy topping, but not everybody likes it.
18. Describe the color maroon to somebody who is blind. Deep anger
19. If you were to get rid of one state in the U.S., which would it be and why? California. Too many people, too many homeless, way too expensive.
20. What is your favorite tv show to watch when you’re alone with the remote? I honestly can’t narrow that down. I'm pretty all over when it comes to genres of TV shows.
21. Are you now who you thought you would be ten years ago? Absolutely not. I could never have imagined this life. I wouldn't even have believed you if I went back 1 year ago and told past Molly where current Molly is.
